Just got back from Parihaka where we were just setting up the Peace Forum...it's just awesome! It's going to be GREAT!

Already met 2 people from Germany, one from France, one from California who's a 'filmmaker' (really, who isn't these days? Lol, jokes.
Another one fron San Diego and a whole other bunch who I have no idea where they're from. BUT IT'S AWESOME MEETING EVERYONE!!!

It's exciting to be in amongst the happenings of the Peace Festival. I can't wait for it to start! It's going to be full on.

My community project has a proper name now! I've finally chosen to call it, "Taiohi Tu, Taiohi Ora" which is a play on the proverb 'tama tu, tama ora, tama noho, tama mate' (literally it's translated to: Boy stands, boy lives, boy sits, boy dies) it's meaning is that the active person who grows and learns and takes action will live and prosper. The lazy person who doesn't do anything will...well, not live a good life. If any.

So I'm thinking it's all good that I just have the first part of the proverb and just change it to taiohi (teenager/young adult).
Yeah.

And how is my project going? Well, just met up with someone today and they've given their support, and have already enrolled a few of my family members into the project. Will be speaking to another person probably tomorrow and getting advice on how to go from there.
Because the next step is going to be identifying the youths who will be the project team...
